Description An advanced course in the study of children's play, focusing on children's play form infancy to age 12. Emphasis on major theoretical and research findings in the study of children's play among psychologists, anthropologists, and educators. Individual play styles, the play of children with disabilities, cultural difference in play, the relation of play to creativity, imagination and learning, and the importance of play in terms of the larger culture as well as within children's culture will be examined.
