B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education

Description
The Early Childhood major prepares students to teach in inclusionary programs serving children from infancy to 8 years old. These programs include childcare, Head Start, and Early Childhood Family Education, as well as public school kindergarten and first, second, and third grade classrooms. The Early Childhood major emphasizes collaboration with parents and other professional agencies serving families with young children. To receive the B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education, the student must meet the minimum university requirements and specific requirements for the program. Completion of 120 credits with a 2.8 GPA or above is required for this degree which includes the Liberal Arts and Sciences Core (42 credits) and Early Childhood Education requirements (36 credits). All coursework for this degree requires a grade of C- or higher.
