B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education
Description
The Early Childhood major prepares teachers to teach in inclusionary programs serving children from birth through third grade. These programs include childcare, licensed preschools, Head Start, Early Childhood Family Education, and kindergarten through third grade in elementary schools. The Early Childhood major emphasizes collaboration with families and other professional agencies serving families with young children. To earn the B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education, the student must meet the minimum university requirements and specific requirements for the program. Completion of 120 credits with a 2.75 GPA or above is required for this degree which includes the Liberal Arts and Sciences Curriculum and Early Childhood Education requirements. All coursework for this degree requires a grade of C- or higher.
