This course explores the economic, political, and cultural globalization of the Spanish Caribbean from an interdisciplinary, analytical, and historical framework. The impact of globalization is examined through migration (economic and political) and remittances; emergence of transnational societies; political transnational movements such as the Generacion Y, the Cuban blog; and cross-border exchanges in cultural trends.
