Description This course provides an overview of historical and contemporary perspectives of juvenile justice within the United States. Specifically, this course examines: (1) the development of the U.S. juvenile justice system, (2) definitions and measurements of juvenile delinquency, (3) controversial juvenile justice practices and policies, and (4) the complex relationship between juvenile justice, race/ethnicity, gender, and socio-economic status.
