Description The healthcare sector of the U.S. economy offers a unique setting for considering the interactions of healthcare consumers, healthcare producers, insurers, and government in markets. The frequent and ongoing overlap between public and private sectors within healthcare markets highlights tradeoffs which exist in the presence of scarce resources. This course prompts students to recognize these tradeoffs and their associated impacts on efficiency and equity in the U.S. or in comparison to other global healthcare systems.
