Description This is the third and final course in a sequence devoted to the study of improvisation in jazz and commercial music styles. Topics include: non-standard chord progressions and advanced harmonic applications, advanced transcription and analysis; advanced melodic improvisation guide-tone exploration, bebop language and pentatonic scales, and different styles of jazz including modal and non-standard/contemporary.
